The Super Duper Trooper Raygun in all its former glory.

The Super Duper Trooper Raygun by Robynn Sanders - Before The AccidentI am sorry to announce the passing of The Super Duper Trooper Raygun a Toyota SUV created by Robynn Sanders who recently finished a painting a MINI Couper called Animated Robots. It seems that the Raygun had a close encounter of the wrong kind and is now headed to the "Yard" on its last and final mission.

Here is what Robynn had to say about her art car.

"The Super Duper Trooper Raygun is
Highly Mobile, Interplanetary, Multi-Functional, Search & Destroy, Deatomizing Super Duper Trooper Raygun

Designed to protect earthlings from evil invaders. Equipped with Electro-fizzilating Cosmic Clouding Bubbles that cleanse the world of dirty doing, also Dual-action bastardy deed Destroying Darts, High Intensity Multi-wavelength Cosmic Rays that de-atomize evil invaders and last but not least Hypersensitive Sound Blasters."
It was a cosmic and complex car, with many life saving properties and it will be missed.

Ugly Corvettes or Art Cars in Disguise?

Ugly Corvettes or Art Cars in Disguise that is the question I have for you today. Over at Jalopnik
this Dragon Corvette is considered ugly but here its an art car in "process". Even though it was voted "single worst custom Corvette in history" it will find save haven here with the rest of us who took perfectly good cars and added "personal" touches. While I was out an about I found a few more corvettes that needed to come out of the rain.

What do you get when you cross a Unicycle, a Tuba and Burning Man

Photo Via Olson & Farlow
I needed an art unicycle for my collection here on Art Car Central and this is what I found. Some dude named Erin "Red" Thompson who figured that tubas and unicycles where a good much. So he covered himself in silver paint, went to burning man one year and did his thing. Mom would be proud, those tuba lessons paid off.

The Bubble Monster Strikes Again

The Bubble Monster art car was created by Sonny, a 93 Toyota Camry 4 door turned into a 2 door sculpted using spray foam.

It's an interactive art car that makes bubbles that come out from the tail, eyes, nose, teeth  and the main body. It also has a nifty tunnel so
kids can crawl through the car.

Sonny is also working on adding more interactive features to the Bubble Monster and is available for parties and corporate gigs. Nice work Sonny.

World's Smallest Car - Postman Pat by Perry Watkins

Perry Watkins took the frame of the "Postman Pat" children's ride in the UK and mounted it on a quad mini-bike, using its 150cc engine. The car has a windshield wiper, lights and signals, mirrors, fire paint job, fake racing exhaust pipes and engine blower. It can hit a top speed of 40 MPH, it is now legal to drive on the road and has received confirmation that his creation - only 39in high and 26in wide - is the smallest car ever built. Also world's most expensive chiropractor bill.

Play Twister While Driving - Joy Art Car

by crazysanman
Finally the mobile version of twister is here with this Joy Art Car. It's true now with this car you can break up those boring long road trips with a very "quick" game of twister, and you don't even have to stop, unless you slip and slide off at 65 mph. The object of the game is to stay on as long as possible.

Psychedelic Bentley Art Car for the Beatlles

by jefg99
This 1956 Bentley SI, was designed by John Lennon and is housed at the Sarasota Classic Car Museum, Sarasota Florida. A crazy paint job for a super crazy expensive art car. I wonder what "Mr" Bentley thinks of this?

Incredible Pakistany Art Cars Hit the Road

I can't believe how amazing and beautiful these art buses are from Pakistan. The amount of time spend creating these wondrous works of art stun me senseless. I also can't imagine the time spend in keeping up with it all and making sure the colors stay vibrant for a long time. These and many more are found on drive line

Ganesha The Car - Paving the way to better traffic

via
Salamandir a "Professional New Age Renaissance Man" took a 96 Mazda Protegé called The Ganesha Art Car and covered with Sanskrit writing. He said this about his art car: "After some research, I decided to put Sri Ganapati Sahasranamavalih on my car for a variety of reasons: Apart from the fact that I am Hindu, and Ganesha is the second most widely worshipped deity in the world (right behind Jesus), I figured it would be good to invoke The Remover of Obstacles when I was on the road, especially since I am recovering from a brain injury which occurred in 2003." I do hope your driving experience has been a good ever since and I do hope your recovery went well, all the best from ACC.

Trashy Barbie Pink Mercedes Art Car - Barely

Can anyone explain Trashy Barbies Pink Mercedes to me. I am simply at a loss for words to wrap my head around this convertible pink budget mod with no doors and two roll bars. Even the word Mercedes is cut off, I don't know what this world is coming to.

Giant Tire Painting with a BMW Art Car

Artist Robin Rhode installed a set of paint squirters on a 2010 BMW Z4 and then set it in motion upon canvas. This giant football field sized piece of art is entitled "An Expression of Joy." and was created after hours of driving the car to and fro in exact patterns to get the paint thickness just so. I think its a great marketing idea by BMW to promote their new car, well done.

Dotmobile Art Car by Little Shiva -

This minimalist BMW named the "Dotmobile" art was sent in by Little Shiva. Her web site has a wide range of some pretty amazing works of art mainly using trash and other found objects, check it out. Anyways this is what she had to say about her self.

When she's not fingerpainting on Mars or curating Visible Trash, Little Shiva is probably dreaming of The Dotmobile, plotting and scheming on how to get her shipped to Europe as part of traveling trash art expo in 2010. Stranded in Charlotte NC without a car back in the early 00's, Little Shiva put out a call and a kind soul answered. Dave Neff had driven his prized Beemer into a ditch and crunched her up a bit. Too embarrassed to sell her given the twisted shape she was in, he was about to give her to the scrapyard when fate intervened – Little Shiva got her for a dollar. A year or so later after returning from her first trip to Burning Man, Little Shiva decided to start the transformation . . . and Dot was born. Moving to Belgium in 2007 meant leaving Dot behind: she's currently the art car-in-residence at the Juggling Gypsy in Wilmington, NC.

Fantastic Italian Art Car - Fiat 500

I found this fantastic Italian Art Car created using an old Fiat 500, I think. I don't know anything more about this car other than the paint job is simply incredible in detail, color and design. It uses all the patterns all the time but somehow it works out. Nice Job.

Dino Ride Art Car aka Psychedelic Relic

I got this Dino Ride Art Car sent in by Carl Lasagna today and here is what he had to say about it:

Beautiful friendships and a whimsical, hemp inspired imagination inspired the transformation of a salvaged 61 Ford Galaxie into the DinoRide (aka the Psychedelic Relic) in 1993...Created by Carl Lasagna, this "Senseless Act of Beauty" radiates such good Car Kharma it turns frowns upside down wherever it goes. After 100,000 miles of touring California and Oregon, the response has proven that Peace, Love, Justice, and Environmental issues (Especially when mixed with a little psychedelia) NEVER go out of style. WAR IS UNHEALTHY TO BABIES, PUPPY DOGS AND OTHER LIVING THINGS...is painted on the trunk

I have owned the car for 21 years now...and it still runs and graces the Bay Bridge quite regularly :)
